CERT Training

On April 2025, Harris County organized a CERT class in Cloverleaf at the Leon Z Grayson Community Center. Members of BayCERT were asked to help train the fresh batch of interested community members in CERT. Our very own Diana and Oz were asked to help teach the medical and search and rescue courses respectively. Both were in-charge of going through the materials in the text book provided as well as help guide through some practical training and answer questions posed. They were able to fulfill this request because both are certified to teach the courses. BayCERT is becoming a close partner to Harris County CERT coordinators by facilitating members that are qualified to teach CERT. This class is set to finish with a final live practice of a mass casualty event. BayCERT will be able to provide victims, moulage and scenarios for the class that will evaluate their skills in emergency response.
