On April 12th, 2025 The Woodlands Township hosted an event to learn the various ways to be prepared for any severe weather or disaster that could occur in our area: hurricanes, extreme cold, flooding, fire, terrorism or earthquakes. Public safety agencies and local community organizations will be on hand to provide information to help you create your own personal plan to provide your own shelter, first aid, food and water.
The event invited the Montgomery County OSHEM, Harris County OSEM and other departments within both counties. A call was made to BayCERT and any other CERT area member to help set-up and operate a small booth and promote CERT training to the public. Along with ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) members.
BayCERT provided 3 volunteers to help distribute information about upcoming training courses in the area. BayCERT worked along side a team from the Tomball CERT team. This was a fun experience where two different teams work together and provide information to the public about what CERT is and how it can be utilized during a disaster. We want to thank BayCERT members David, Maria and Diego for helping out during this event.
